What is the Yuva Kala Sangamam?

The Yuva Kala Sangamam is a one day festival on August 23, 2025 presenting young artists to from around the USA to the Valley of the Sun.

We aim to bring the diversity of South Asian classical art right to you from the up and coming generation of artists.

These artists were chosen by a panel of artists representing the disciplines presented by our applicants.

Our festival presentation is an all day event at The ASU Kerr Cultural Center with each performance slot lasting 40 minutes. We encourage you to join us for all of them and experience and incredible day of music and dance!

As arts practitioners, we recognise the need to bring a diverse array of South Asian art forms. This year, we hope to highlight artists who bring art forms that have not been highlighted in Arizona before. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Lavani

  • Chhau

  • Manipuri

  • Kalaripayattu

We are actively seeking young practitioners of these art forms and other underrepresented South Asian performance art forms to apply so that we can provide them with the platform to showcase their unique art forms!

the Diversity of South Asian Art
